Enemy Divine (Book One)
Theme song: Goodbye My Lover, by James Blunt (play during chapter 24)
Sworn Enemies…
All Sørnrøs had ever wanted was to live a peaceful, solitary life – something she would never be allowed to do as a Goblin Warrior – away from the millennia old war that her race had been embroiled in with the Fae. Was that really too much to ask? ‘Twould seem that the Fates believed that to be so, for just as she was beginning to believe that her dreams could some day come true, those capricious gods had seen fit to throw an obstacle in her way. A big, stupid, Fairie shaped obstacle, to be precise, forcing her to choose between honour and happiness.
Along Came a Prince…
Pampered and spoiled, Thraceon had led a charmed life. Right up to the moment he had lost it all. Disheartened and dreading the very real possibility that he’d have to go crawling back to his father, he despaired of being forced to return to a life he abhorred with every fibre of his being. That is, until a jaw-droppingly hot Goblin stepped into his path, opening up a whole new world of possibilities. Never mind that she’d tried to kill him – three times! – or that she was a psychotic Goblin Warrior – the most reviled of beings! – teaming up with the sexy temptress could very well be his road to salvation.
An all Powerful God…
On the cusp of unleashing Armageddon upon the worlds, Axir, the god of strife, decided to take a vacation – essentially, from himself. For one week he would immerse himself in everything bacchanal, and he had found the perfect Vampyre – a whore who would place no demands on him – to spend that week with. Little did he know that male he had chosen would have something entirely different in mind. Something that would rock his eternal existence, placing all of the worlds, all of life itself, at risk of being destroyed.
An Indecent Proposal…
Xenrael had no intention of accepting the god’s offer, which was why he’d tossed out such a ridiculous sum when the deity had refused to take ‘no’ for an answer. Now he was stuck, bound by his own stupidity to do as he was commanded when the male had called his bluff. Too bad he couldn’t even console himself with the fact that he was now obscenely rich, because he did not care about wealth. He didn’t care about anything. He didn’t feel anything. That is until, in a brief moment of kindness, the god awakened something within him that he never would have believed could exist. But, could he ever come to love a male who would never see him as anything more than a whore?
